Harissa Salmon & Broccoli, a North African Lunch

Harissa Salmon & Broccoli delivered from Martha & Marley Spoon, is a warm spicy tone of traditional North African spices. 30 minutes from prep to table. If you are looking for a meal with complex flavors, the Harissa Salmon & Broccoli with Almonds over a bed of Israeli Couscous is just what you are looking for. The flavor profile in this meal includes a combination of a variety of red chile peppers and an assortment of herbs.

Included in the kit is a recipe card that shares a tidbit of information on the dish. I learned Harissa paste is a staple of North African cooking cuisine and the peppers are packed with bold richness. In one bite you are transported to the lavish flavors of North African cuisine through this traditional spice that can be used in stews, curries, and roasted vegetables!

BBQ & Grillin’

Summer is a great time to have a BBQ & Grillin’ experience in your backyard in the midst of Covid-19. If you’re the Grill Master, it’s best to wake up early in the morning to set up and get your charcoals started. It is critical to establish a placement of your charcoals by dividing the grill into three sections: hot, warm and cool. You must continue to rotate the food on the grill so it does not BURN. With over 3 years of experience, along with being taught the fundamentals of BBQ from my father, it is important to manage the temperature of the charcoals. The majority of the charcoals must turn white-gray, which signifies the temperature is between 240 to 300 Fahrenheit. Slip on that Cooking Glove with a TONG in hand, its Grillin’ Time!

Use your favorite Oil-based Marinade (easier to cook on the grill)
Side note: (Marinade both the vegetables and meat for 2 hours in the refrigerator)

Coat the Vegetable Marinade evenly

Use your favorite Dry-Rub for the meat

Vegetable Skewers on the Grill
(Soak your skewers in water the night before use)

Find your favorite BBQ Sauce and get Grillin’. The sauce in the picture above is the Trader’s Joes Organic Kansas City Style BBQ Sauce along with the Trader’s Joe’s BBQ Rub and Seasoning with Coffee & Garlic.

Find out what works for your taste buds! Enjoy family time and Stay Safe and Vigilant!
